BABS SMITH
Babs is a multidisciplinary artist and a Graduate Scholar with the University of Salford Art Collection in conjunction with Castlefield Gallery Manchester. She was Winner of the People’s Choice Award at Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival and was selected for the Neo Print Prize and the Salford Open in 2018. In 2021 she was nominated for a Create Art & Design Award UOS. Her work is concerned with the translation of visceral human experiences as a means of deepening our understanding of subjects including movement, time, music, and science. Working with print, acrylic, resin, found objects and Virtual Reality, her practice often involves cross-disciplinary collaboration in an online/offline process. Babs’s work is housed at Salford Museum, she has undertaken a number of public commissions and is currently working on a sculpture for Smart DCC. Her work is housed at the National Outdoor Centre, North Wales and the Autism and Criminal Justice System, Salford.
